CMD Avio division has been making a great leap forward.
After obtaining APDOA – Alternative Procedure Design Organisation Approval on December, 2016 and becoming TC holder for CMD22 gasoline engine on January 2018, CMD Avio is ready to change into DOA (Design Organisation Approval).
kick off meeting between CMD and EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), held at the beginning of October at company’s headquarters, marked the beginning of investigation process which will lead CMD to become DOA HOLDER.
During starting phase of the process, AVIO team has submitted to EASA DOA Team Leader both management staff and activity plan strictly focused on targets’ achievement; the second phase has just begun and it will be devoted to the analysis of preliminary DOH (Design Organisation Handbook).
DOA will allow CMD to:
” Perform design activities within the scope of approval;
Have compliance documents accepted by the Agency without further verification;
Perform activities independently from the Agency”.
At the same time, on January 2019 certification process to obtain TC for GF56, diesel engine common rail 2 stroke, will start.
